Kella, Creatively Produced by Dilanjan Seneviratne, Is Submitted for Grammy Consideration
Best Global Music Album | 67th Grammy Awards | submission confirmed 2 October 2024, announced 15 October | accepted for consideration, reported 24 November
On 15 October 2024, Kella, the Yohani album Dilanjan Seneviratne creatively produced, was announced as officially submitted for consideration in the Best Global Music Album category at the 67th Grammy Awards. The submission had been confirmed on 2 October.
A submission is an entry for consideration by the Recording Academy, not a nomination. On 24 November 2024, the Sunday Observer reported that the album had been accepted for consideration. The 67th Grammy Awards were held on 2 February 2025 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Dilanjan led creative direction and executive production on Kella, and wrote the lyrics for nine of its 14 tracks, with co-writing credits on two more, Eh Hithe and Submerged. The album was released on 8 December 2023, with 11 songs in Sinhala and three in English, and mastered by Misjah in the Netherlands.
The Sunday Observer and the Daily Mirror described Kella as the first album from Sri Lanka submitted in the Best Global Music Album category.

What came next: the same press release signalled a second studio album for early 2025, and Yohani's return to the Colombo stage at Outright Stage on 18 January 2025.
The submission put a Sinhala-language record, built with Dilanjan's words and direction, in front of the Recording Academy.
