Dilanjan Seneviratne Writes and Directs Moving On for Red Bull Records
Yohani's English and Sinhala single, released on 11 November 2021 | lyrics by Dilanjan | video written, directed and produced by him through Pettah Effect with Theewra
On 11 November 2021, Red Bull Records released Moving On, Yohani's single with lyrics by Dilanjan Seneviratne and a music video he wrote, directed and produced.
The song blends pop, R&B, hip-hop and alternative, switches between English and Sinhala, and turns on a rap bridge. Yohani described it as a song about moving on from anything in life with confidence, rather than a sad song.
Dilanjan produced the video through Pettah Effect with its long-standing production partner, Theewra.
Highlights include:
Label: Red Bull Records, the US-based label, which presented Moving On as part of its 2021 releases from artists around the world.
Lyrics: Dilanjan Seneviratne.
Video: written, directed and produced by Dilanjan, a Pettah Effect production with Theewra.
Coverage: The Morning and EconomyNext on 12 November, the Sunday Observer on 21 November and the Daily FT on 23 November 2021.
The release grew out of a relationship Dilanjan began in 2019, when Red Bull Sri Lanka backed the Pettah Effect culture programme behind the Pop Hits Ultimate Mashup.
Moving On arrived six months after Manike Mage Hithe was uploaded and five weeks after Dilanjan's first meeting with T-Series in Mumbai. It was also one of the last releases to carry Pettah Effect's name.
