Dilanjan Seneviratne Launches Outright Stage, His First Production Under Outright Play
Outright Stage Volume 1 | 18 January 2025 | Waters Edge Main Ballroom, Colombo | sold out, about 1,000 people | Yohani's return after three years | debuts by Amarsha Tissera and Rumalki Raveesha
On Saturday 18 January 2025, Dilanjan Seneviratne presented Outright Stage Volume 1 at the Waters Edge Main Ballroom in Colombo, the first event produced by Outright Play, the company he founded in 2024. The concert sold out, with about 1,000 people in attendance.
Outright Stage is Outright Play's own live format, and the company holds its intellectual property. At launch Dilanjan set out plans to stage it twice a year and to take it on tour.
The night was Yohani's first live concert in Sri Lanka in three years. Her 90-minute set included songs from her debut album Kella, which Dilanjan creatively produced, a Baila segment for the title sponsor, and an acoustic performance of Nangiya with her sister on piano.
Highlights include:
Debuts: Amarsha Tissera and Rumalki Raveesha, two new artists given a full stage.
Partners: Prima KottuMee as title sponsor and Mastercard as key event partner.
Guests: FunkyDirt made surprise appearances, and the pre-event line-up also billed Tehan Perera with Hot Chocolate and Dasun Madushan.
The concert was first announced in October 2024, alongside the news of Kella's Grammy submission.
The format set the pattern for Dilanjan's later productions: a headline artist, new roster artists given a full stage, and brand partners built into the programme.
